Hi, we are Paul and Ann, and we would like to share our travel story.

We always enjoyed travelling and experiencing new places. Most of the time we used to travel like most people, book a hotel or villa for a couple of weeks and enjoy the sun or the local culture.

In late 2015 we were in our late 40s and were probably in a bit of a rut. We thought there must be more to life and perhaps travelling to see all these places we had never visited would be the kind of adventure we needed.

We decided to take a year off and travel. First we sat down and each wrote a list of the places we wanted to visit. We compared lists and then prioritised the ones we had in common. This was becoming a plan!

I handed in my notice and Ann agreed a sabbatical. We bought tickets and booked our first couple of destinations, not just for a couple of weeks holiday but long enough to really know our destinations.

Friends and family displayed a mixture of disbelief and excitement, as did we! Life would never be the same again!
